Weekend Update-Halloween 2011

Catching his breath after playing hard with Alex.

Alex Khan aka Alvin (Choozo nicknamed him)

Watching Curious George.

Three mesmerized with George.

Choozi sitting next to dad and Choozo in front seat.

Sydney dressed in traditional Malay outfit, baju kurung.

This weekend, we took Choozo and Choozi to John's Incredible Pizza and Choozo had so much fun, eating his favorite cheese & chicken pizza, did not like the mac n cheese, fascinated with row of soda dispenser and enjoyed his soft serve ice-cream. His sister is a little more tempermental, wants to be held all the time. Choozo played the arcade games and he went home without putting up a fight. All grown up now. He rode in the cars by himself. He used to be afraid of them.

Then we had Alex aka Alvin & his mom came over for dinner and play date. Choozo kept calling Alex as Alvin. They played so much, that Choozo crashed on the sofa with his dad, catching his breath. Choozi was walking all over the house, bossing the boys around with her squeals and screams.

I made 150 cake pops, cooked curry laksa and Monday night - we gave away candies to kids in our neighborhood. This is a funny story. Choozo gave away candies to the kids when they rang the door bell. At one point, while he was finishing his pee pee in the potty, he did not have enough time to pull up his pants that he wiggled himself with his pants at his feet to the front door. Standing at the door are 2 little girls dressed as Cinderella with their mom, I quickly cupped his ku ku chai/wee wee and everyone cracked up. It was a hilarious moment which I am gonna tell at Choozo's college graduation and wedding day!

Uncle Kong's birthday 2011

Uncle K celebrated his birthday this month. We had cake and I made fried hor fun, deep fried fish stuffed wontons and deep fried shrimp roll. As usual, choozo is most excited about blowing candles and choozi is mad about cake.

This is the ending to Uncle K's birthday cake. Choozi loved it.

Second in line loving desserts!

Can I dig in yet?

Opening wide, daddy!

Attacking the cake!

Oldest girl in the family! Notice her perfect smile!

Posing for camera, as usual!

Hmmm, wonder what piece I am getting?

Happy Birthday, Uncle K!!!

Taste good like mom's but the color is unavoidable dark from soy sauce and blackened garlic residue.

Golden shrimp wrapped in popiah skin.

Wedding cake-Westersund style

What a small world, met Betty/Gigi at wedding!

The Westersund

My Cake Wing Man, who thought he can do detailed and clean fondant work!

My critic and support at late nights when I cannot sleep.

The Grand 1401 and right top side is where the Westersund cake sits!

Top tier aka dummy tier sitting next to me.

This is a custom made cake for Angelia and Allen who married on September 24, 2011. The wedding was held at the Grand 1401 - a ballroom in downtown Fresno. It was a very intimate wedding reception for 180 people. The couple did their own decorations which looked chic, simple and classic. The color scheme was subtle with hint of champagne, silver and soft lighting.

I made their wedding cake. Bride had a vision but I took it to the next level. Bride and Groom are the nicest and humblest people I ever met, both families at the wedding were nice and approachable.

Uncle Kong played a huge role in this from scratch, baking, stacking, frosting, decorating and hauling the cake with Frank and I. SK was watching Choozo for me on the day of wedding!
