My birthday weekend - March babies

I am turning 42 in a few days, we celebrated my birthday since the actual day falls on a weekday. My uncle took all of us to a lunch at Royal Orchid Thai Restaurant. We had chicken satay, squid chilli jam, prawns khapi, fried rice, beef red curry and phad thai. Since it was my birthday and ammi's too, we received complimentary desserts - ice cream with asian canned fruits. Yummy. Then we got to wear the headpiece - I looked awkward but ammi looked so regal, like the Thailand Queen!

We are blessed....

Last weekend, we were having our normal breakfast at Macdonald's on Willow. We consider ourselves now as regular patrons on weekends. This is the place where Choozo & Choozi eat and be merry.

So this last Saturday, Choozi was being admired and praised by a elderly Chinese lady who resembles my maternal grandma. She spoke Cantonese and we chatted. This elderly lady with her cane walked over to Choozi and Choozo; gave each of them $2 for good luck. She fell in love with Choozi and Choozo, that they are the most beautiful mix of 2 races. I was beaming.

Choozo as his charming self went over to give her a hug before we left and that made the elderly lady's day.

Also, a huge development between these two, they are playing together, Choozi would crawl to chase her brother and Choozo would call her name, with passion - Maaaya!

Satay

I have been craving for Malaysian food all month now, nasi lemak, kari laksa, sambal udang, sambal sotong and finally SATAY! All from scratch!

My golden ticket is too cute for words. Strangers praised her. She is all mine.

Ammi birthday weekend

Ammi birthday weekend ended with a delicious plate of Nasi Lemak which I whipped up in 2 hours. Curry chicken with taufu pok and sambal prawns with sliced red onions, coconut rice and cucumbers and boiled eggs as condiments.

Prior to that, we had brunch at North India Grill. The food was delicious.
