Memorial Day Weekend 2011

This Memorial Day, I stayed home with Choozi and we both spend some time together, later our Sydney came to join us, more fun! Choozo went with Daadi and Dad, to Yosemite and had loads of fun, I meant for Choozo. He was literally overwhelmed with all the things he could do in that wide open space. He ran, he climbed, he rolled, he fell of this tree trunk while posing for dad into mud. He never cried. Not one time!

He brought his Elmo balloon with him - it followed us to breakfast at Uncle Harry's Bagelry and then to Yosemite National Park.

Look~ him with big rocks!

Took a peek over da RAVINE! Now where is your dad, to hold you back??

Side view of what he is looking at.

Tippy toes, where is your dad, Choozo?

Held on tight by Daadi.

Calla lily in my backyard

This year, we have the best harvest for calla lilies, total of 14 flowers in full bloom. All thanks to my spouse, who has been the diligent gardener, 2nd in command after my dad. I call him Private Green Thumb. My dad is Capt Green Thumb.

The future US President or perhaps...

I dream of a dream...wishing for Choozo to become the most powerful man or influential person in the future, if I am still around. I had this picture in front of me (on my work desk), when he was less than a year old. Either he will be US President or perhaps, Warren Buffet or even Bill Gates. I wish he will be compassionate, strong, decisive, fair and most of all, a respectful, responsible and intelligent individual!

The medal says it all!

We are so proud of CK for this outstanding achievement! Keep it up! You are looking good to becoming the Secretary of State when Choozo is the future US president.

Choozi Food Face

As you all know by now, Choozi loves to eat. And a messy eater too. She loves sharing by offering them with her tiny fingers, or simply shoving it up your nose or mouth. I love her little chin and the dimple on her lower lip.

This is home made!

I have been trying many ways to conserve monies in terms of gift giving for birthdays, mother's day, father's day, graduation and Christmas (which I eliminated off this wasteful gift giving). This arrangement for auntie Diane at work, who is very close to me, celebrates her 58th. Flowers consists of 12 roses for $4.99 and lilies for 6 stalks for $4.99. Vase which I found at Homegoods for $5.99 which came up to be around $17. I found the acrylic jewels in my stash.

Choozo is tall and skinny!

I was concern that my Choozo was skinny but his doctor reassured me that he is fine, better be skinny than chubby, he said.

Choozo is a picky eater, he smells his food and then bites cautiously into it. If he tastes, smells or sees vegetable, he will remove it from his mouth.

As for Choozi, she is a willing participant in food tasting. She is a true foodie, like Anthony Bourdain. She too, is skinny, and her doctor is a little concern of her weight, her 15 months well visit is up on Wednesday and we will find out then her weight progress.

Happy Belated Mother's Day at Samba

Dinner at 6pm last night, we were seated at the quiet side of the restaurant, everyone was looking forward to having a good dinner since last Sunday, when it was cancelled as this little mookie was sick.

"I am waiting for my pilaf rice, great Uncle!"

Best friends always!

My selection from the appetizer & salad buffet, before they bring in the skewers of meat!

"Hey Ah Yee, want some of my fries?"

Ah Yee with new glasses, super smart looking, which she is!

Great Uncle with his new grown goatee!

Sisters forever!

"What no shoes?"

Still going....

No one gets between my meat and I.

Tri-tip, done just right!

Different cuts/types of meat that arrived.

Check out my cheeky smile!

Eating my carrot, chomp!

Sipping on my Shirley Temple!

"Done with dinner, now for my walk, Dad!"

"Lookie! Fresh Black Mission Figs, growing outside the Samba restaurant!"
