Choozi is a Trooper

This weekend is beginning to look hectic, plan for a birthday for Ani's great grandma, she wanted a tea cup and teapot cake. Choozo took advantage his fav girls, Ka Chey and Ah Yi's no school. He eagerly went to stay overnight with no problem missing us.
Tonight, we will have Choozi with us, we miss the boy terribly. We are blessed that he is in very good hands. Happy New Year!

Goodbye 2010 Hello 2011!

We were blessed that we managed to sustain ourselves in 2010, we wish this coming 2011 would be a better year for all in terms the economy, job hunting and most of all, wishing everyone we know and don't know....Good Blessings all around, we love ya!
Choozi had 2 surgeries in 2010, we pray she is done with that and that all will be well for her. Choozo is becoming wiser, more mature and less mischevious, I hope. We are blessed with so many good memories and hope to make more in 2011. Happy New Year!

Choozi loves shopping

My little Choozi has potential to withstand long hours in shopping cart. She loves to go out rather than stay home, just like his bhai/brother. She looked so colorful in a rainbow striped hoodie with her shocking pink casts. So candy-licious!

The Kids Christmas weekend!

Choozo loves her Ka-Chey (meants big sister in Cantonese for CK) and Ah Yee (Little aunt for SK), he had tons of fun hanging out with them. He imitated SK by calling CK - Ka Chey. He sounded like a pure Chinese. He stayed overnight with them, watching movie, playing on the computer and just chillin. They get along so well, wait till lil' Choozi's turn, and then there will be four.

Last weekend, my cousin Annie with her 3 kids, Noelle, Maxine and Estelle came over for a 2 day weekend stay with us. We ate, we shopped and had loads of laugh and banter. It was great catching up esp. seeing Maxine - whom I have not seen for many many years, she is now a very confident young lady and most of all, outspoken. Indeed, she is leader of the pack. Noelle, the oldest has matured and grown so much - independent wise since I last saw her 2 years ago, she has a very nice and soft spoken boyfriend named Andri. A great couple. Similar mannerisms and qualities. Estelle - the youngest of four, still a fan of all shades of blue, an avid photographer. I managed to spend some time with her while finishing her sister, Noelle's graduation cake. She took pictures of me working on the cake. She opened up more this time, I got to spend some quality time with her. She is forward with her words, not sugar-coating to please anyone, not blunt. A quality I admire in her. I miss Danielle, she stayed back in Malaysia for school purposes. We feasted on Saturday night, where my uncle Kong and aunt Alicia threw a traditional Christmas dinner with a juicy deep fried turkey, braised beef short ribs, mashed potatoes n gravy, canned cranberry jelly, brocolli rice and cheese, mozarella cheese bread, cupcakes and cheesecake. It was also a surprise birthday party for Cayley and Sydney whose birthdays are in December. My Choozo joined in the candle blowing tradition too.

On Sunday night, we feasted again on homestyle Chinese food from Golden Dynasty, simply delicious and hit the spot after a day of shopping. The next day, Annie and the kids, and Andri, came to the hospital to bid goodbye to Choozi. A sad note to leave on, but they will be back I hope!

Super Choozi in pink

Introducing Super Baby Choozi in hot pink. She kicks *ss! I tip my hat to her, she was calm going into surgery - not a whimper when the male surgery nurse, Alberto, took her into the long grey hallway. She was busy looking around. After her surgery, she came out in style hot pink cast as I requested so strangers won't mistaken her as a boy! This is IN YOUR FACE PINK!
I seldom admire any child for their strengths at such age, except for my Aayan and a little dude named Noah Jackson. Both boys had travelled a very difficult road to get to a better place physically healthwise. Then there is Choozi, smiling and her proper disposition amazes me. Her dad and I are not like that, we are common people. Her name fits her well - Princess.

Choozi's Santa Baby

Choozi agreed to pose with the Santa's hat before yanking it off!

Choozi 2nd surgery

Pre surgery nap time with dad.

On morphine, Choozi was knocked out in recovery room!

Choozi's own private room. Explorer wing. The ceiling had stars etched on and glows.

Asleep on the spaceship bed.

Looks like she is caged in.

Today was a very heavy day for myself and hubby. Choozi went for her 2nd surgery for both her feet. She went with a calm demeanor and acted like a little lady. No crying or fussiness. All proper to a T! Right now, Choozi's dad is with her, mom left for home to catch some sleep before going back to hospital in the morning.

Choozi's surgery

My Choozi is going for surgery for both her feet on Monday 12/13/2010. She will have to stay overnight. This will be her 2nd detailed tenotomy with Dr Jon Oda at Valley Children's Hospital. We are so blessed to have such a great facility within our reach. Please pray for Maya.

Waiting patiently for Thanksgiving dinner, sitting at the head of the table.

Digging into his dinner.

He made the paper crown by himself at daycare. Feels very majestic.

This is Sarah, a doctor and dear friend of Mona bhabi. We like her, this is her 2nd Thanksgiving with us.

This is would be Choozi's first Thanksgiving with dad's side of the family. We had a 3 days feast starting on day of Thanksgiving till Saturday. This year as usual there was no Black Friday shopping for us, too lazy to go shop. We celebrated Samer's 18th birthday on Thursday, a surprise 50th birthday for Aneela baaji (Friday) and a traditional "haleem" @ Saturday served where a traditional dish is cooked slowly overnight to enjoy the next day. Tons of different types of grains cooked slowly till soft, mixed with ground meat and tons of spices, then topped with fresh mint, green chillies, ginger, cut onions and garam masala powder as garnish. Choozi's dad loves it. Not my favorite. They performed a blessing ceremony for mama to be, Farheen, whom we adore.

On the day of Aneela baaji's birthday, we had chicken tikka and that was simply delicous, Choozo loved it. The turkey was da bomb this year, sharing with family and a dear friend, Sarah.
