Halloween time

Many have asked me what is Choozo's costume for Halloween this Sunday. Well, he is staying home and dishing out candies to the neighborhood kids. I think our house give out the most and "not your run of the mill" candies. Few people are into celebrating Halloween on our street, however, there is a house on the next street - the owner goes all our every year to bring out the best and the biggest air filled Halloween decor!

Cayley is a genius geek!

Cayley had to borrow Frank's work shirt, belt and old pair of glasses for school today, the school is promoting Be a genius - say no to Drugs!

Personally, I thought she looked more original if she went as Paul Frank's Einstein.

Choozi waiting for her turn

Oct 14, we took Choozi to her orthopedist appointment at Valley Children's Hospital. She sat so quietly next to her dad.

This morning, she was in bed with her bhai/brother, awaiting her turn to get ready, changing diapers and clothes, wiping her face and making sure she is all so pretty.

Flu shot and 2 booster vaccinations

Dad, to get a bigger view of picture, click on each one. Then, go back to original page, using the BACK key on your top left hand corner.

It was Friday, picked up Choozo from daycare, he was napping. Checked into the doctor's office for the above. We waited for the nurse to confirm which booster shots he needed, He took one jab on left and 2 on the right, screamed and yelled about 3 minutes. Then, he was back to his normal self. I am lucky that Chooz(o)(i)'s dad is always there for all their medical appointments, and mine too!

My 2 babies...

I finally managed to snap a precious moment, Choozo and Choozi shared last morning, sucking away on their bottles. The only difference was we got played big time by Choozo. Choozo refused to hold his own bottle at Choozi's current age - right now - 8 months. We were bamboozled! Choozi is very independent in terms of feeding herself, mind you, she is still a princess who needs to be carried around, I can say to my left arm....when is my next chiropractor appointment?

Halloween witch...almost

Choozi's dad donned a witch's hat on her. I quickly snapped a pic for keep sake, we were too cheap to invest in anything Halloween, except candies for trick-a-treaters at our neighborhood, because Choozo loves to greet them and basically harasses them with his big smiles and loud greetings....SEE U LATER, BUH BYE!

Choozo in bathroom

Pause the music player toward your left in order to watch the video.

My daycare provider, Laura recorded the after-math of Choozo's successful potty pee pee task. We can't show that part because Choozo evoked his privacy rights. This is where he is praised for his successful task! He is going to be a BIG boy now.

Happy Birthday Uncle Kong 2010

My uncle Kong, who is only about 6 years older than me, huh? celebrated his birthday this weekend. We ate at Hometown Buffet Saturday evening and cut his birthday cake from Sam's Club. I was too occupied with other baking projects, therefore, had to buy the cake. The family got him a HTC Aria Droid phone thru Best Buy. Free Phone Friday was the deal at Best Buy, got the smartphone for free.

Choozi and the JUMPEROO

Finally, my Choozi got her jumperoo from a belated gift from her grand-aunt from Malaysia, it is a Fisher Price Learn and Laugh. It was a joy to see her braces off and bounced on her tippy toes. Hopefully this new gadget gives our arms some freedom! So far, so good.

Choozo runs da King's house

On Columbus Day, Choozo's daycare took the day off, he was fortunate his great aunt, Alicia, was able to watch him for the whole day. He runs that house. My aunt, serves him hand and foot. When he came home, I can see his kingly ways diminished, once he entered to his own castle. Some random pics taken by his aunt Cayley.

Goodbye Taxi Uncle

I grew up knowing my little uncle who is the second youngest in my mother's side of the family. He was a quiet man, loving, kept to himself, approachable and most of all, his nickname was Little Taxi Uncle because his profession was a cab driver in the night shift. When my mom was here in US, I vividly remembered that we were running around looking for a jacket to keep him warm, and I hear stories about him from my mom, how he treasured stuff, esp. this portable Polaroid dvd player. That was his form of entertainment during his late night breaks from driving. My dad would tape as many shows for him when he is here from our Comcast channels line up.

Even though, I have not seen him for about 18 years, I managed to speak to him couple of times last month when he was in the hospital. I told him that I missed him and to get better. Last evening, he passed away. This morning, I was crying in my car on my way to work when I read a text message from my cousin in Malaysia. Sometimes, life is hard to let go. I have not seen him for so long, I wished I had. He was a part of my life growing up. Growing up back then was simple and a priceless experience.

I wish my little taxi uncle safe journey. I will always remember you, the stories that was told about you and most of all, my ride in your taxi growing up, sitting next to you in the front. How cool was that! I love my little taxi uncle. We all do.

Geisha 3D cake

I made this for a colleague at work, whose daughter, Mariah turns 15. I have known Mariah since she was 7 years old. She loves anime, Japanese culture and esp. geisha. She draws very well with different mediums.

Choozi many looks

This was taken this morning at MacDonald's, I managed to capture her without closing her eyes because there was enough light from where we sat to not trigger camera flash.

Denny's Breakfast

Last Saturday, we had breakfast at Denny's - something other than McDonald's, Keyaan refused to sit on the high chair, made a fuss over it. He got to sit on the regular chair next to his dad. It was a good morning, as we got to eat breakfast and drove to Golden Bowl grocery store (Asian stuff), where Ammi bought tons of vegetables and she loved that place! There were giant size spring onions and we found medium sized guavas, there were delicious!

A boy's mischief

I scratched my head many times after many of Choozo's mischevious acts. I laugh about them most of the time. Alot of my friends said boys will be boys, now I know what it truly means. They cannot sit still, they have to keep themselves busy and occupied. I am blessed, I have Choozi who balanced this mischevious one. But wait, people say girls's mischiefs begin at puberty! Yikes, make-ups, dates, "I wanna phone", "I wanna car" and YIKES!

Till then, I count my blessings everyday for my kids. They sure make ME and DAD happy!

P/S I kinda look forward to how Choozi's version of mischevious acts.

Happy Birthday Poh Poh

Oct 1 was Choozo and Choozi's maternal grandma's birthday. They missed their grandma/pohpoh terribly, due to the time difference and their own sleep/play schedule, AND my computer crashing since last Monday, communications thru SKYPE was cancelled. On a happy note, we wish Poh Poh - Happy Birthday and we love & miss you!
