Yule log for Christmas

I made this yule log with fondant figurines. CK and SK came to help. Experimented with a new sponge cake recipe. Delicious.

My 4 babies

Wow, this is a precious pic. My 2 babies in one shopping cart. We went to Kmart last weekend, the little one was busy looking around. The oldest want to get out of the cart to roam on his own. My oldest, Cayley is already helping me with chores and Sydney is also chipping in with caring for Choozo. I am blessed.

Mandy Hill's baby shower

Last Sunday, we went to Mandy's baby shower. It was nicely done by auntie Diane. We had games, Sydney won ONE, where she collected the most clothes pin by watching people who crossed their arms or legs.

This monkey is making a mess!

This is Mandy's baby shower cake, she loves monkeys, she does not know the sex of baby and she is due Dec 20. This is my gift for her. I stacked 6 layers of chocolate mud cake with ganache frosting and covered with buttercream. Everything you see is edible except the head, it is a styrofoam ball covered with fondant. She calls her baby, BABY HILL. By the way, Mandy is one of my boss's Mike, 2nd child.

I decided the theme that she will be receiving a gift box with a playful monkey peeking thru after making a mess of everything, packing materials ala mini marshmallows everywhere, the monkey had bananas and peels everywhere. Finally it is done!

Wide mouth bass fish cake

The cake is made for the Chinese Association gathering at Woodward Park this coming Saturday, it is a charitable donation. The fish body is made of Rice Krispies Treats - covered with fondant and then airbrushed, the blue lake is made of chocolate mud cake with rich ganache filling surrounded by wooden barriers (wafer chocolate rolls). Ooops the cattails!
I truly enjoyed making this cake. I just heard from my aunt, that this Saturday gathering consists of a food competition, maybe I win a blue ribbon or red?
